Description
1Original hand coloured aquatint taken from the original sketch by T. Walmsley and engraved by F. Jukes, slight foxing. Laid on to thick card. Dedicated to Thomas Harris Esq. Thomas Walmsley (Landscape Artist. 1763 - 1806). After a quarrel with his family it resulted in him going to London where he worked as a scene-painter at the Royal Opera House. Up until 1795 he exhibited a series of Welsh landscape paintings at the Royal Academy London. The paintings were reissued in aquatint, this being one of them. In his 40s his health began to fail and he died in Bath in 1806.To see more images go to:- [View Bookseller's Homepage] .
