Description
Gilt frame with glass. Size 171/2 x 14ins. Musgrove first obtained a position at the Herald's College of Arms, showing early promise as an artist he returned to Chester In 1832 he sketched the Grosvenor Bridge just before it opened, showing the scaffolding etc He went on to sketch other parts of Chester and was in great demand. An associate of Musgrove described him as -an erratic child of genius and a wonderfully minute draughtsman- He died in great poverty.
