Daniel Lysons (1762-1834) was a notable English antiquary and topographer of the late 18th and early 19th century. With his brother Samuel, Lysons began Magna Brittania, being a concise Topographical Account of the several Counties of Great Britain (1800-1822), the intention was to research and publish the history of every county in England, unfortunately only about 11 counties were completed. (Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Cheshire, Cornwall, Cumberland, Derbyshire, Devonshire, London & Middlesex).
